Brown basmati is a long grained rice grown in the foothills of Himalayas and northern states of India. The main difference between plain brown rice and basmati rice is the aroma unique to basmati.
Brown basmati rice is comparable to other types of brown rice in nutrient content, although it does contain about 20% more fibre compared to most other types of brown rice.
