The La Fabbrica Panforte with figs and walnuts is a rich reinterpretation of Italy’s favourite Italian fruitcake. Dating back to the Middle Ages, La Fabbrica’s version—the Panforte Siena PGI— is one of the oldest traditional Sienese desserts. Soft and sweet, these Panforte are made from flour, candied fruit, almonds, sugar, honey and spices according to the rigorous production process controls required for the PGI designation. Because they’re so rich, a small slice is all that’s needed for the perfect side to a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
