From the sun-baked villages of Argujillo, Villabuena and Morales, Dehesa Gago 2023 is a vibrant expression of Toro. Made from 100% Tinta de Toro — the region’s local strain of Tempranillo — the grapes are grown on sandy, well-drained soils that produce fruit with impressive depth and character.
Telmo Rodríguez keeps things beautifully simple, allowing the vineyards and variety to speak for themselves. The result is a bold yet balanced red, full of dark fruit, earthy spice and freshness.
Smell
Ripe blackberry, dark cherry and plum, with hints of violet, cracked pepper and warm earth.
Taste
Plush and juicy, with layers of black fruit, cocoa, tobacco and spice. Fine, dusty tannins add structure, while fresh acidity keeps everything bright and lifted. The finish is long and savoury, with lingering dark berries and spice.
Drinking beautifully now and will continue to develop through 2032. Serve slightly cool at 15–17°C alongside BBQ meats, grilled lamb or steak.
